God is in Control!

This may be a few days late, but let me first say I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween. Here is a picture of my attempt to be festive.

There are a lot of things up in the air right now—a lot of unknowns. For example, how will our next president lead our nation; what exciting ministry doors will God open for PanicREV in 2009; what doors will God choose to close; and what in the world does it feel like to get your wisdom teeth pulled out? All are pressing issues. OK OK, the last one is just pressing on my heart, being I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled out tomorrow. I am not too pumped on it, but I know I am in good hands.

All jokes aside, I have heard a number of concerns from many Christians since yesterday’s election and Barrack Hussein Obama being nominated the next president of the United States of America. How will he shape this nation? What judges will he appoint during his time in office? How will his views towards Israel affect our nation? All extremely valid questions, none of which I have answers to. I would be the first to admit that Obama has some very questionable non-biblical point of views. He was not my choice for president; however, he will be my president for at least the next four years. All these things make me think twice about the direction our country may go in the future. However, I cannot allow America’s unknown future shake my faith, my relationship with God, nor my view of who really has the control of our future. You see, where the president of the United States may be the most powerful man on the face of the planet there is one greater than he. The president will lead, help shape, and give direction to our nation. He will also have a big affect on the rest of the world and other world leaders. He will bring about change (good or bad). As president Mr. Obama will have a lot of power and responsibility. However, as I stated before, there is one much, much greater—God! God is the one that is in control here. God is the one I place my hope and trust in, not the president of the United States. God is the one molding our future and allowing certain things to come to pass—God, not man. We all can rest assured that God is indeed still on the throne and God is the one in control!

Over the last year God has been doing some amazing things through this ministry. Let me first say it has been an honor to be a part of such an amazing movement of God and His Spirit. God has also given us an encouraging vision for 2009. Going to Mammoth and Dodge this last year really opened our eyes to just how ripe for harvest the mission field within the motocross community is. We have seen a lot of people out there within the community truly seeking after God’s heart. We have seen God working in people lives in huge ways. We have seen people turning to Christ for the first time in their lives. People are asking questions, other people are getting super pumped and are being edified by this movement of God. It has been an amazing journey. Possibly the most exciting part is the journey doesn’t stop here … God is still working and moving in big ways. With every ounce of me I believe that God has only begun to truly move and impact the motocross community. To paraphrase a line from a Chris Tomlin song, greater things are yet to come and greater things are still to be done here in this community—things that will glorify God and further His kingdom! I am excited and can’t wait. With that said, God has given us a vision for 2009 and beyond, but has yet to reveal how it is all going to happen and how it will be funded. There are a lot of things that are still unanswered and unknown. However, just like with the future of this nation the future of this ministry is in God’s hands. We can trust in him. We all can rest assured that God is indeed still on the throne and God is the one in control.
